Kenny Wayne Shepherd is starting to look like an old man. Sure heΓÇÖs only 22, and in most books, that makes him an exception in the genre of blues, a musical category long the domain of older African American axemen. But it was just a matter of time before Shepherd outgrew his novelty status, only to be replaced by a new youth brigade, proudly led by fellow bluesers Jonny Lang and Shannon Curfman (a 14-year-old female, no less!) If you ask Shepherd, heΓÇÖs glad to have the focus off of his age and back onto his playing. In the wake of his latest CD release, Live On, Shepherd reveals that he is honing in on his vocal chops and plans to do more singing in the future.
